Representaion of characters

We are planning on using mise- en-scene to make our protagonist characters to look as much like standard teenagers as we can. By doing this we will make sure we show various different stereotype of a teenager; this will make it easier for our target audience to relate and link there own life into the film. This makes a greater effect on the audience because it links into mundane realism. As we want to conform and subvert to the stereotype of a female teenager, we will make one of them look girly. By doing this we will have her wearing clothing which is seen as pure for example; have her wearing white/pink top. This will make her look vulnerable and will put the audience on edge whenever she is in danger as they will think she wont be able to look after herself making her look like a damsel in distress. However, the other stereotype of a girl that we will show is making her look quite rough. We could make her look 'gothic' in some way. This will make the audience assume she can look after herself better than the 'damsel in distress' This will subvert to the usual stereotypes that is shown in horror films. It will also allow the audience to compare and contrast both girls and decide initially who will get them selves in trouble first.
The male actors will be shown to be quite cocky, this will link into how most teenage boys like to show part of their persona as it makes them seem confident and some could find funny. By making sure our actors pursue this, we will need to do auditions. We want the actors to come across as quite strong and in charge, this will attract the female target audience because they will find the actors attractive and therefore want to see the film. The clothing we are planning to dress the male actors in is just casual clothes. For example just a plain black hoodie with black/blue jeans. This is what a lot of male teenagers tend to wear which allows it to be more realistic towards to audience.

Antagonist representation.

We are going to present our antagonist wearing a mask, this shows them with a hidden identity making it an enigma towards the audience about who they are. This is proven to intrigue the audience into wanting to watch it even more as they will want to find out who it is. Although we will show our antagonist wearing a creepy mask, we will dress him/her up in stereotypical teenage clothes. This is most likely to be similar to what the man in the image shown is wearing (black hoodie with blue/black jeans)

Props

I have made a collage of a variation of different crops that we are planning on having our protagonists seen with in our film.

Image 1 - My first image that i have found is of a big ruck sack. This will link into mundane realism becasue this is what people tend to use if they are going on a camping trip becasue it is easy to carry and big enough to fit everything that you'll need in it. All of our characters will be shown carrying one of these to make it more realistic towards the audince.

Image 2 - I have included a picture of a tent as one of our props. This is becasue it is an essential item for people who want to go camping. I have made sure it was a fairly standard tent because you wouldn't expect a group of teenagers to have a posh big tent. It is also similar to the tent we have already and are planning on using.

Image 3 - Image three is of a torch. This is an essential item to have on you whilst camping as you have no other source of light.  It will also help make some of our shots build up tension and come across creepy towards the audience because as we are planning on filming just before it gets dark, the light will stand out. We can use it in our POV shots which will allow the audience to focus on a particular thing.

Image 4 - I have got a picture of a car as we are planning on having our opening shot of the group of friends in a car. They will be driving to the campsite. This makes it more realistic and relatable to the target audience. It will make us be able to show the audience that they are quite silly and careless. This will make them look vulnerable.

Image 5 - I have found a picture of a map as one of our props. This will make the characters look vulnerable as it shows they do not know there way around that area. This will create suspense within the audince because it will make them think that it is likely they will get lost.

Image 6 - I have added a picture of a pen knife, this is because you would expoect people thatare going camoping to carry one on them. Not necessarily for protection but for things like cooking. However, as they teenages will be shown to be quite careless, showing them with a pen knife could put the audince on edge.

Image 7 - I have included a picture of a lighter. This is becasue it would be a useful thing to have on you if you're camping. It is also a stereotypical item for a teenager to have on them. This is becasue it links into smoking which could be seen as foolish to the older generation.

Image 8 -  I have got a picture of an iphone. This is a very common phone used for teenagers and they are known to not go anywhere without a phone on them. This will mak ethe trailer more realistic.

Image 9 -  This image is of alcohol, this links into teenagers being ruthless and careless. It also will make them seem more vulnerable as the influence of alcohol can make you make wrong decisions.
