Jaws Trailer

This trailer has an establishing shot of under water. There is a voice over of a man speaking. He says "There is a creature who has survived millions of years of evolution.." This makes the audince feel tense as they will strat to think that this creature is deathly. There is also non-diagetic music playing in the background. This music is an iconic sound track as it is very well known. The way the camera is moving in a POV shot makes teh audience feel as if they are submerged uner water and are going along the journy that the camera is taking them.

"Lives to kill" and "Mindless eating machine" were two of the things that the voice over was saying that stood out to me. I feel this would really attract the audiences attention and make them fear what is coming up in the film howver make them intruigued to find out.

The shot then changes to a low angle shot of a girl swimming in the sea. The lighting is quite dark andf gloomy which makes the effect on the audince feel scared and wanting to find out what is coming towards her. The non-diagetic sound links into the lighting compositn of the shot as they all work well together to create a tension building, gloomy effect. The shot then suddenly moves from under the water to above the water so you can see the girls face, instead of body.  The music suddenly stops and she looks shocked and and begins to breather in quicte heavily. After a couple of seconds she is pulled under the water screaming. The audience is left with an enigma becasue they still have not seen the 'beast' that has attacked her.

The shot followiung from the distressful shot contrasts the mood hugely. The music is much happied and the lighting is bright and cheerful.
